Alice in the Big City is an original concept performance by Sevanna Kisko. The show is a jazz based dance performance for dancers age 8-adult. Dress rehearsal and performance will be at The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center in Clarksburg, WV. Dress rehearsal will be Saturday, March 28 and performances will be Sunday, March 29. There is a performance fee of $35 (plus tax) per dancer or $50 (plus tax) per family to participate. The performance fee helps to offset the theatre rental, costume purchases, props, backdrops, theatre staffing fees, etc. The performance fee does not include the purchase of tickets, which will be approximately $15-20 per adult.
Synopsis: When her sister Ella gets a new job, Alice has to move from her hometown to the Big City. Excited for the future, Alice begins to imagine all the fantastical things that happen in the city: From taxi drivers, to professional grownups, to tap-dancing alleycats. When she arrives however, she finds the city to be much more dreary than what she had pictured, and it turns her world upside-down. After running away from her sister and making a new friend, she finds beauty in the differences of the city.
